N.S. First Responder

The NS First Responders are a group of trained volunteers who provide Emergency Medical Assistance to fulltime and seasonal residents of the North Shuswap, and the large number of visitors to our area.

Due to ambulance arrival times, BCAS liaise with our Dispatch who then provide all necessary details of the 911 call to our First Responders.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide emergency medical care to patients until the British Columbia Ambulance Service arrives on the scene to take over patient care.

We rely on donations, fundraising efforts, and grant applications to cover the costs of first aid supplies, equipment, fuel, insurance, and training materials. We’re proud to serve our community and welcome any questions you may have.
